UPDATE: Flood warning in effect for the Cedar River, some roads close in Austin

The National Weather Service has placed a the Cedar River into a flood warning until around 9:30 Saturday evening.
According to the NWS minor flooding is occurred near Lansing cresting at 18.74 at 11 p.m. Thursday night before dropping into the actionable stage. However, the NWS is forecasting more flooding through today and into Saturday due to the large volume of rain received over the previous two days.
As of 7 a.m. this morning, the Cedar River in Austin was 14.60 feet and was initially forecast to reach 19.50 feet or moderate flooding by 7 p.m. tonight. However, the NWS has revised that as the river is already trending downward, sitting at 14 feet at noon.
The Cedar River overflowing its banks inundated the usual suspects, including Driesner Park and per a post by the Austin Police Department closed roads at Ninth Place SW by the Bandshell and closed Oakland Place between 10th Drive and 11th Street.
