The 14th annual Darren Dash will take place during Freedom Fest on July 5.

The 5K run, which is held in honor of the memory of Darren Lewis, will take place at Rotary Centennial Park at 8:30 a.m. on July 5.

The goal of the race is to provide funding to programs committed to improving mental and physical health in the community. Scholarships will be awarded to local senior cross country runners who plan to further their education.

To date, the race has provided over $34,000 in scholarships.
