Austin High School is proud to announce the hiring of alumna Amy Bickler as the new Head Coach of the Packers Girls Gymnastics Program.

Bickler began her gymnastics journey at the Austin YMCA at age three and went on and she qualified for the Class AA State Meet three times—earning top five finishes on vault and floor and capturing a state championship on floor exercise her senior year.

Bickler competed at the Division II level for Winona State University, qualifying for the National Championships and graduating in three years. Her coaching career includes time as an assistant coach at both the collegiate and high school levels, and later as an assistant coach for the AHS gymnastics program for five seasons. For the past three years, she has served as the Team Gym Lead at the Austin YMCA.

Bickler also brings over a decade of judging experience through the MSHSL and a professional background in management and human resources through her 18-year career with Hormel Foods.

“I am thrilled to accept the role of Head Coach for our gymnastics program,” said Coach Bickler. “Gymnastics has been a lifelong passion – one that has taught me the value of perseverance, precision, and heart. I believe in nurturing the whole athlete: building confidence and character, alongside skill. My philosophy centers on creating a positive, disciplined environment where athletes feel empowered to grow, take risks, and support one another. I am honored to lead this journey and can’t wait to see what we’ll achieve together – one skill, one practice, one routine at a time.”
