Eastbound Interstate 90 ramps at Fourth Street Northwest in Austin are scheduled to close on Wednesday, weather permitting, and motorists will see Fourth Street NW at 13th Avenue NW reopen to traffic, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Construction crews are continuing the replacement work of underground city water main and storm sewer utilities on Fourth Street NW between 13th Avenue NW and I-90. The intersection had been closed since May 19 while crews replaced water mains and storm sewer in that section of the road. Work will continue down Fourth Street.
Vehicles will reach the businesses using a temporary road on the east side of Fourth Street during the remainder of the work, which includes replacement of the concrete road and entrances to the businesses. Access to the businesses remains open. Businesses affected are Scooters Coffee, Hardeeās, Burger King and Kwik Trip.
Work on Fourth Street is expected to be completed in mid-July.
Meanwhile, work continues at the Fourth Street NW bridge over I-90 with the traffic ramps closed.
