The American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) announced that six Good Samaritan locations received the 2025 Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award, including Comforcare here in Austin.

This recognition signifies a location’s commitment to improving the lives of residents through quality care. These six locations join the 23 other Good Samaritan locations that earned the Bronze Award last year.

“Quality care is at the core of everything we do. I am so proud of our caregivers who pour their heart and souls into caring for our nation’s seniors,” said DeeAndra Sandgren, Good Samaritan chief nursing officer. “70% of the residents we serve live in rural areas across America’s heartland – they are our neighbors, teachers and friends. It’s a responsibility we take great pride in and we are truly privileged to do this work and serve the seniors and families who have been entrusted to us. This award is a testament to the love, dedication and compassion they show our residents every single day.”

Other locations receiving the award include:

Good Samaritan Society – Davenport, Iowa

Good Samaritan Society – Waukon, Iowa

Good Samaritan Society – Syracuse, Nebraska

Good Samaritan Society – Sioux Falls Center, South Dakota

Edgebrook Estates Assisted Living, Edgerton, Minnesota

The AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program is a rigorous three-level process reviewed and evaluated by trained experts against a set of nationally recognized standards for organizational excellence.
