Austin Area Arts announces kick-off events for Paramount’s grand re-opening season

Austin Area Arts has announced the kick-off events of the Historic Paramount Theatre’s Grand Re-Opening Season following an extensive renovation and expansion project slated for completion later this summer.

Sept 14 The Texas Tenors with the Austin Symphony Orchestra

The Texas Tenors are the most successful music group and third highest selling artist in the history of America’s Got Talent.

Since appearing on the series in 2009, the Texas Tenors have performed over 2,000 concerts, recorded five studio albums, produced two PBS specials, and have written two hit children’s books.

They have also been awarded three Emmy Awards and the distinction of being Billboard Magazine’s No. 10 Classical Artist in the World. The tenors’ most recent albums “Outside the Lines”, “Rise” and “A Collection of Broadway and American Classics” all debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Charts.

The tenors will be accompanied by the ASO conducted by Stephen Ramsey. Sponsored by Belita Schindler, Randy & Wendy Kramer, and friends of the ASO.

Sept 20 Mason Jennings, Minneapolis Singer-Songwriter

Jennings is a Minneapolis songwriter and indie-folk singer, whose latest album is “Underneath the Roses.” According to Jennings website, the songs were, “Written in an unprecedented burst,” following the birth of his son, Western, in March 2022.

The album was released in 2023 and prior to that, Jennings released the album “Real Heart” in 2022. For “Underneath the Roses,” Jennings tapped bandmates from Painted Shields to help record the songs that made it on the album.

Sept 27 A Night at the Paramount

Celebrating 96 Years of Entertainment A historic night for a historic theatre, Dylan Kaercher will produce a tribute to popular music through the decades starting with the 1920s.

Hosted by Roxi Manacoochi and featuring a large cast of regional singers, musicians, and dancers. On the heels of last season’s successful “A Night at the Opry,” this show is expected to have you tapping your toes and singing along all evening to the greatest hits from every decade.
