The No. 4 seeded Southland softball team beat No. 13 Fillmore Central (1-20 overall) 16-1 in four innings in a Section 1A Tournament opener in Rose Creek Monday.

Riana Ulven had a homer and four RBIs for the Rebels (16-5 overall).

Southland will now host No. 5 Lewiston-Altura at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
