The Rotary Club’s April Student of the Month is Pacelli Catholic Schools’ Yong Achuoth

What activities are you involved in at school?

I am a three sport athlete. I am involved in Pacelli Shamrocks Cross Country and Lyle/Pacelli Athletics Track and Basketball.

What are your hobbies?

My hobbies are basketball, video games and sleeping.

What awards have you received throughout your high school career?

I have received a number of scholarships to support high school tuition at Pacelli.  I also received the Most Improved Player award in Cross Country my sophomore year, and the Most Valuable Player award in Cross Country my junior year.

What are your thoughts on

education?

Education is very important, and it can greatly help your future.

What are your

future plans?

My plans for the future include basic training in the Army and then attending St. Mary’s University of Minnesota. I have attended the Countdown to College summer program at St. Mary’s since ninth grade.  This program has allowed me to earn college credits and a scholarship to attend St. Mary’s when I graduate from high school.

What are your thoughts on Rotary?

Attending Rotary was very interesting.  I learned a lot about things going on around town that I wasn’t aware of before.
