The No. 4 seeded Southland softball team fell into the elimination bracket when it lost to No. 1 Faribault Bethlehem Academy 9-4 in Todd Park Thursday.
The Rebels took a 4-3 lead in the top of the fourth inning when Riana Ulven put down a bunt for a sacrifice RBI, but FBA put its stamp on the game when Morgan Wilson crushed a two-out three-run homer to center field to make it 6-4 Cardinals in the bottom of the fourth.
Wilson, who was FBA’s pitcher, shut down the Rebel attack the rest of the game as she held Southland scoreless over the next three innings.
Southland will play Hayfield in an elimination game at Todd Park at 1 p.m. Friday.
