The Mower County Historical Society will kick off its first event of the 2025 Lunchbox History Series at noon on Thursday, May 22, in the Pioneer Building with Jaimie Timm, MCHS curator.
She will share “Hidden Treasures” from within our permanent collection that are rarely seen and will be an opportunity to learn more about artifacts from Mower County that are rarely discussed.
Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. for this free event and people are encouraged to bring their lunch and bring a friend to learn about history in a relaxing environment during the middle of the day.
Speakers and dates for the rest of the 2025 Lunchbox History Series are listed below:
• June 26: Dean Ulland with “The Coming of the Railroad 1867-1900”
• July 24: Paul Spyhalski with “Hormel or Hormel? Language, Loyalty, & the Minnesota Public Safety Commission”
• Aug. 28: Wendy Larson with “History from Austin Public Schools”
