Mary Ann Shawback, 76
Mary Ann Shawback age 76 of Green Valley, AZ passed away peacefully on April 22, 2025 at home surrounded by her family. Mary (Christensen) Shawback was born May 5, 1948 in Austin, MN. Mary was the daughter of Richard and Virginia (Olson) Christensen. She graduated from Austin High School in 1966. Mary married Jim Shawback on Aug 29, 1975 in Las Vegas. She was retired from IBM in Rochester, MN.
Mary loved watching her grandchildren participate in school sports and events. She enjoyed going to estate sales and auctions along with decorating their home with the antiques and artwork purchased. She was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan and had a passion for traveling too. She also enjoyed shopping and camping especially with the grandchildren. Mary was a beloved member of Desert Hills Lutheran Church in Green Valley, AZ. Where she enjoyed the Saturday country gospel service.The new love in her life was her dog Stella.
Survivors include husband Jim, two sons and two daughters and a son-in-law Troy (DeForest, WI), Eric (Portage, WI), Janine and Jerry Worden(Chatfield, MN) Lynnae (Maple Grove, MN). Seven grandchildren Michael, Brenden(Rachel), Brayden, Tayler, Emma, Natalie and Jackson, three great grandchildren Savannah, Rain, Dawson and a fourth due in August. Kathryn Christensen Lockney, TX (sister) and Richard Christensen Fort Collins, CO ( brother) and Tom Lundberg.
A memorial service was held in Green Valley and a Celebration of Life is planned for this summer in Minnesota.
Mary will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
