A familiar face will be taking over as the Austin Packers head girls basketball coach, as Austin High School has announced the hiring of assistant coach Jordan Pline to succeed Eric Zoske.

According to a Friday morning release, Pline brings with him a reputation for fostering positive team culture, building strong fundamentals, and inspiring student-athletes to reach their full potential.

“I am incredibly excited to take over the girls’ basketball program,” Pline said. “I have had the good fortune of working under so many wonderful coaches and alongside many inspirational athletes. I look forward to continuing the progress we have made and putting a team on the court that the school and City of Austin can be proud of.”

With experience coaching at various levels and deep understanding of the game, Pline is prepared to lead the Packers into a new chapter of success.

“We are thrilled to have Coach Pline in this new role for the Austin Packers,” said Katie Carter, Austin High School Activities Director. “Jordan brings great energy, high character, and a clear vision for building a competitive and connected program. We’re confident he will make a lasting impact on our student-athletes and the Austin community.”

Zoske, who led the Packers for nine years, recently stepped down to take a head coaching position in Iowa at North Polk High School in Iowa.
