Notice is hereby given that the Mower County Planning Commission will assemble on Tuesday, 6/3/2025, at 5:30 p.m. in the County Commissioner’s Room, located in the lower level of the Mower County Government Center, (201 1st Street NE, Austin MN 55912 – please enter through the Law Enforcement Center doors), to consider the following Conditional Use Permit application(s) in accordance with Mower County Zoning Ordinance:
Notice is hereby further given that the Mower County Planning Commission will take public comment on the aforementioned Conditional Use Permit application(s) both in-person and via teleconference from the County Commissioner’s Room. CUP #988: Request for sand mining, screening and washing. 12 acres total with work to occur in four phases of 3 acres each. Concrete storage and crushing. Mining and materials storage will be outside of shoreland overlay areas. Section 27, Red Rock Township. Property Owner is Wyatt Holst
CUP 992: Request to use an existing 55’ x 90’ accessory structure on the property for a welding and small manufacturing business. Section 18, Marshall Township. Property owner is Christopher Devries
Ordinance Amendment: Large Event Ordinance – Article IX – an ordinance which regulates the operation, responsibilities, and management of large special events within Mower County, (outside of municipal boundaries) to protect the health, safety and general welfare of citizens and partakers. Ordinance includes exemption for government sponsored events; municipal celebrations; county fairs; private gatherings such as weddings, funerals, graduations, reunions; garage sales, auctions, farmer’s markets, church, and fraternal events, and existing speedways.
Notice is hereby further given that the Mower County Board of Commissioners may hear the aforementioned Conditional Use Permit application(s) on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at approximately 10:00 am in the County Commissioner’s Room, if the CUP is advanced by the Planning Commission.
