The No. 4 seeded Hayfield baseball team beat No. 13 Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton (8-12 overall) 5-4 in Hayfield a Section 1A Tournament opener Thursday.

Hayfield (12-9 overall) will take on No. 5 Goodhue in a Section 1A quarterfinal in Riverland at noon Saturday.
