Daniel John Smith, age 81 passed away peacefully on March 23rd, 2025.
Dan was born on April 21, 1943 in Osage Iowa to Paul and Isabella Smith. He was Baptized May 2, 1943 in St. John’s the Baptist Church Johnsburg, Minnesota.
Dan graduated from Adams High School class of 1961 and the University of Minnesota School of Business Administration graduate class 1979.
Dan served in the US Air Force 1964-1968. He was stationed at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska.
Dan started his own accounting business specializing in Home Owners Associations and Taxation. Many of his clients referred to Dan not only as their accountant, but as a friend to share wisdom and a good laugh.
Dan was an all around sports fan, especially baseball. He was a lifelong Twins fan…..even if he rooted for the Cardinals.
Dan is survived by Barbara, son Dan (Sarah), grandchildren Kyle and Chloe. Brothers Harlan and Gary (Teresa) nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents and brother James.

Funeral Liturgy Outside of Mass and interment at St. John the Baptist in Johnsburg.
Following the service please join the family for a luncheon at the American Legion, Adams 2:30 – 5:00 PM. A time to celebrate Dan’s life, share the stories and have good laughs.
Memorials – in lieu of flowers, please support your local hospice or Alzheimer’s research.
