The No. 2 seeded Blooming Prairie baseball team survived a big scare to beat No. 15 Kenyon-Wanamingo (6-12 overall) 7-6 in nine innings in a Section 1A Tournament opener in Hayfield Thursday night.

The Knights scored three times in the top of the seventh to force extra innings before BP (12-5 overall) finally won the game on an RBI single by Gabe Staloch in the ninth.

BP will now play No. 7 Spring Grove in Riverland Community College at noon Saturday.
