Alumni Update: Local grads compete in conference competition

TRACK AND FIELD
Pacelli grad Kayla Christopherson took first place in the 3,000-meter steeplechase for South Dakota University with a time of 10:48.82 at the Summit League Outdoor Track and Field Meet recently.
Christopherson, a grad student, has spent six years at SDSU.
Grand Meadow grad Hailey Hindt set a program record for the University of Saint Thomas at the Summit League Outdoor Championships.
Hindt ran the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 58.86 seconds to break the record and take second place in the meet.
Hindt also ran on the 4 x 400-meter relay that took fourth and set a new USF record with a time of 3:41.09.
Blooming Prairie grad Annaka Forsberg completed her freshman season at Coastal Carolina when she took ninth place in high jump at the Sun Belt Outdoor Championships.
Forsberg cleared a height of 5 feet, 4.25 inches. Her best jump this season was 5-5.25.
BASEBALL
Hayfield grad Easton Fritcher went two-for-five with an RBI and a run for the University of Saint Thomas baseball team as the Tommies closed out their regular season with a 16-7 win over Northern Colorado recently.
Fritcher, who transferred from the University of Minnesota to St. Thomas last summer, is hitting .270 with two homers, seven doubles, one triple and 12 RBIs for the Tommies (29-21 overall), who won their second straight Summit League Title this season.
Austin grad Peyton Ransom recently wrapped up his freshman season at Riverland Community College, where he played in 48 games. Ransom hit .291 with 22 RBIs, 34 runs scored and eight stolen bases.
SOFTBALL
Blooming Prairie grad Macy Lembke played in 22 games for Gustavus College this season, going two-for-four with a double, an RBI, and two runs scored. The Gusties went 19-21 overall.
