Thumbs up for long time dedication. Troy Nelson’s retirement, featured in Wednesday’s Austin Daily Herald, serves as an example of what prolonged dedication to a job can result in. Thumbs up for community involvement. Recently, the Austin Rotary Club donated $7,000 to the Matchbox Children’s Theatre. The money was raised through its Trivia Night and is once again an example of what Rotary and other service clubs mean to a community.
Thumbs up to recognizing those in music. The Austin High School Music Hall of Fame recently announced its three inductees that will be honored later this year, continuing a long tradition of honoring those who have dedicated their lives to music and by extension enriching those around them through these endeavors.
Thumbs up for running. This past Saturday, the 11th running of the annual Shamrockin’ Run was held to raise money for Pacelli Catholic Schools. Over 100 runners took part in this yearly tradition featuring runners of all ages.
