ORDINANCE NO. 736
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN, MINNESOTA AMENDING CHAPTER 3 OF THE CITY CODE CLARIFYING AND
UPDATING DEFINITIONS RELATED TO FATS, OILS AND GREASES; CLARIFYING STANDARDS FOR OLD BUILDING SEWERS; ALLOWING FOR ADJUSTMENT OF SURCHARGE RATES;
AND REQUIRING A COMPLIANCE CERTIFICATE AT EACH POINT OF SALE
The Austin City Council adopted revisions, clarifications, and updates to Chapter 3 of the Austin City Code addressing rules and regulations of sewer connections, users, fees, and compliance. This action occurred at the City Council’s April 7, 2025, City Council meeting.
SUMMARY: Clarification and update of definitions related to fats, oils, and greases and regulations of the discharge of the same. Clarification of the standards applicable to old building sewers and their use. Conversion of a fee set in the ordinance to a fee established by the council. The creation of a sewer compliance certificate at the time of sale of a property.
