Minotauros slide past Bruins in OT to go up 2-0

The Austin Bruins couldn’t get their offense going for the second straight night as they lost to the Minot Minotauros 2-1 in overtime in the second game of the NAHL Central Division semifinals.

The Minotauros won the game when Jesse Juhola scored just 43 seconds into the extra session.

The Bruins, who scored just twice in the first two games against Minot, now have to win three straight games to keep their season alive.

Austin tied the game at 1-1 when Ryan Lund scored a third period goal. 

The Bruins out-shot the Minotauros 20-7 in the first period, but they couldn’t score a goal and the game was still scoreless until Minot went up 1-0 on a goal by Braeden Jockims in the second period.

Minot’s Lukas Swedin had 47 saves and Carl Axelsson stopped 32 shots.

Game three will take place in Minot at 7:35 p.m. on April 25.
