More than once Jesus told His disciples He would die and be raised on the third day. Bad news is rarely cherished. Christ’s message was not taken seriously at first. Those who wanted His death took seriously the statement and went to great lengths to seal the tomb. Roman soldiers were at Christ’s tomb to make sure no one messed with His body. That is until an angel removed the stone on the third day after. Jesus’s life was restored and many today believe what took place that weekend in Jerusalem.
Mary M. was the first to the tomb to attend to His body. She had been the last to leave the crucified Savior at Calvary. Wherever Jesus was Mary M. wanted to be. Jesus revealed Himself to her first, honoring her love and devotion to Him before appearing before His Father in heaven. Do you want to be wherever Jesus is?
Jesus promised He would come back again fifty days later when His disciples saw Him ascend in the clouds and onto heaven. The angels affirming that promise He made before the cross in John 14:1-3 “Let not your heart be troubled. You believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions, if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you, …I will come again and receive you unto Myself, that where I am you will be also.”
Jesus was and still is the ultimate truth teller. Satan and his angels and those who don’t trust Jesus’s words are the ultimate liars. In closing, Jesus once said; “All that the Father gives Me, shall come to Me, and all that come to Me I will in no wise cast out.” John 6:37 Will you trust His promises? If you will claim His promises, any and all of them, He will show you He is real!
