Nicholas (Charles) Lindgren, 74 of Austin, MN (Grand Marais and Duluth) passed away on February 10, 2025 in  Duluth, MN. Born on December 9, 1950 in Austin, MN to Duane (Red) and Shirley Ann (Nicholsen) Lindgren. Nick  and Jeannette (Russell) were high school sweethearts; on June 7th 1975 they were married. Nick was a faithful and  loyal husband. Together they have three daughters: Marie Helbach, Brule Wi, Erin Martha Prazak, Gilbert, MN and  Andrea Lange, Merrifield, MN. and a proud grandfather of seven grandchildren, Olivia (15), William (11), Gracie (10),  Luna (9), Louis (9), Henry (9), and Obie (7).

Nick graduated with the Class of 1969 at Austin High. He enjoyed playing three sports. Nick was a pitcher for AHS,  Austin Blues and Augsburg College, known to throw a great curve ball. He was a dedicated employee for the  George A. Hormel Company for 30 years. After retiring in 2002 he and Jeannette moved to rural Grand Marais,  MN.

Nick’s greatest love was fishing and camping with his family on the clear and beautiful lakes of the Gunflint Trail.  Many stories are born from his many fishing excursions. He took up golfing at a young age, hours spent at Ramsey  golf course is where he developed his excellence in the sport and continued playing throughout his life. Many  hours were spent in his workshops making and designing parts and tools and perfecting his stained glass projects.  He could fix anything and was known as the “Go to guy” for his family. He passionately cared for his lifelong friend,  “The Gravely” riding lawn mower (1973 model), which is still in active duty. In his later years Nick became an  excellent cook, their kitchen abounded with utensils, cookware and tantalizing smells. Overall he was the guy that  could do it all and when he did, he did it right.

A kind, polite man, quiet, and humble of his accomplishments in life, he would often be found sharing stories of  his life experiences around a camp fire with his family and friends. He is and was loved dearly and will be missed  greatly.

Nick is preceded in death by his parents Duane and Shirley Lindgren, his grandparents; Nels Milton and  Olga (Carlson) Lindgren, Nick and Martha (Feuerhak) Nicholsen.

He is survived by his wife, Jeannette (Russell) Lindgren. Daughters, son-in laws and grandchildren; Marie and  Adam Helbach (Luna and Obie), Erin and Danny Prazak (Olivia, William, Louis), Andrea and Matt Lange (Gracie,  Henry).
