Marlene Seavey, 81

Marlene K. Seavey, 81, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away at her home, while surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, February 26, 2025.

Marlene was born October 17, 1943 in Austin, Minnesota to Atola “Donna” Rosenthal and attended Austin Public Schools. Marlene was a homemaker and enjoyed staying home to care for her children. After her kids had grown, she worked for the Downtown Motel, and later, at Our House Memory Care.

Marlene married Gene Seavey in the summer of 1974 by the Justice of the Peace in Mapleview. Spending time with family was what Marlene treasured most. She was a loving mother and grandmother and nothing was more important to her than her children and grandchildren.

Marlene was a member of the Austin V.F.W. Post #1216. In her spare time, she enjoyed going to the casino, playing bingo, and doing scratch-off tickets. Camping and fishing with her family were highlights of her time away, under one condition, the kids had to bait her hook.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Stephen Walker; grandchildren, Robert Brown, Jr. and Robert Walker, Jr.; brother, Darrell Rosenthal; sister, Bonnie Karnes; and stepson, Robert Seavey.

Marlene is survived by her children, Cathy (Bob Sr.) Brown, Shakopee, MN, Cindy Walker (fiancé Jerry Finke), Austin, MN, Bob Walker, Sr., Austin, MN, Shawn Kuhn (fiancé Jeremy Rollie), Brooklyn Park, MN and stepdaughter, Debra Seavey, Farmington, MN; 20 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

There will be a visitation at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 22nd and interment will follow the visitation at Oakwood Cemetery. There will be a reception at 1:30 pm at the Austin V.F.W., Post #1216, located at 300 4th Avenue NE in Austin.
