UPDATE: NWS updates winter storm watch to blizzard warning behind trifecta of rain, snow and sleet

The National Weather Service has upgrade Wednesday’s winter storm watch to a blizzard warning, effect starting at 7 a.m. Wednesday morning and lasting through to 7 p.m. Wednesday night.

The NWS forecast calls for rain, snow and sleet before 11 a.m. followed by conditions becoming all snow after noon. High winds of between 22 to 31 mph and gusts of 45 mph will create areas of widespread blowing snow, which will impact travel.

Currently predictions are calling for the possibility of between four to eight inches of snow and sleet with another inch possible into Wednesday night.

It’s snap change from Monday where temperatures reached into the 60s under mostly sunny skies and Tuesday where temperatures climbed into the upper 50s under sunny skies.
