Eunice “Babe” I. Doocy, 95

Eunice “Babe” Ilene Doocy, age 95, of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Our House Senior Living – Memory Care in Austin, Minnesota. Eunice was born on January 3, 1930, the daughter of Frank and Mabel (Johnson) Gerard in Waltham, Minnesota. She graduated from Austin High School. On September 7, 1948, Eunice was united in marriage to Joseph Doocy in Waltham. Their union was blessed with 11 children. Throughout her life, Babe worked various jobs, including as a teenage paper girl for the Ausin Daily Herald, telephone operator, maid, waitress, and an aide and dietary cook at Prairie Manor Care Center. She enjoyed bowling, traveling, camping, and playing bingo. Babe was a member of the women’s “500” Card Club and the Bloomin’ Grapevine Wine Club.

Survivors include her children, Regina (Dave) Larsen, Monica Doocy, Mike Doocy, Bonita (Mike) Herdina, Terry (Sue) Doocy, Mark Doocy, Nancy (Harvey) Farr, Barb (John) Stenzel, Darla Doocy; grandchildren, Dylen (Pam) Larsen, Nathen Larsen, Michelle (Criss) Johnson, Ryan Johnson, Travis (Lianna) Doocy, Dustin (Mandy) Doocy, Amy (Jeremy) Simon, Amanda (Tim) Herdina, Elliott (Maren) Herdina, Zachary (Lauren) Herdina, Chad (Cheryl) Doocy, Steven (Jamie) Doocy, Heather (John) Wyatt, Joseph (Kaylee) Farr, Whitney (Andrew) Farr, Taylor (Brandon) Farr, Rachael (Chad) Stenzel, J.J. (Mary) Stenzel; 40 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; siblings-in-law, Georgia (Carlyle) Engelby, Evelyn Doocy, Patti Doocy, Shirley (Darrel) Fenstermaker, Thomas Doocy, Diane Krosch; and her Gerard and Doocy nieces, nephews and cousins.

Eunice was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mabel; husband, Joseph; daughters, Linda and Brenda; daughter-in-law, Virgene Doocy; siblings, Gene (Shirley) Girard, Loren (Nadine) Gerard, Ralph (Eldora) Grant, and Lola (Barry) Starin; in laws, Timothy and Kathryn Doocy, siblings-in-law, James (Ruth) Doocy, Marjorie (James) Smith, Alice (Sylvester) Kockler, Kathryn (Vincent) Engelby, Dennis Doocy, Patrick Doocy, and Delores (Roger) Schwab.

The funeral service for Eunice will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church, rural Austin. The visitation will take place from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 14, at Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home in Blooming Prairie, and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Memorials are preferred to Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church, Our House Senior Living – Memory Care at 1401 15th Ave NW, Austin MN, or recipient of donor’s choice.
