Blue Devils are ready to compete in third NJCAA Division III tournament in program history

The Riverland Community College men’s basketball team is set to compete in its third NJCAA Division III Tournament in program history when play begins when they take on Salem Community College in Herkimer, New York at 3 p.m. on Wednesday.

The No. 7 seeded Blue Devils (29-3 overall), who took fourth in the national tournament last year, were ranked No. 1 for much of the season as they look to make a run.

The Blue Devils are hoping to find their shot as they lead the country in three-pointers made per game (10.0) and they are fifth in points scored this season.

RCC is led by sophomore Nazih Chehade, who averages 14.9 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game and Austin grad Buai Duop, a sophomore, averages 9.8 points and 6.4 rebounds per game.

Salem is ranked in seventh in the nation in points scored and fifth in three-pointers made per game (8.5).
