Westfield senior Bo Zwiener was the only area wrestler in the Class A bracket to win his first match at the Class A state wrestling meet at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul Friday morning.

Westfield senior Bo Zwiener beat Collin Degn of Central Public Schools 15-5 and he will face Hayden Holm in the 139-pound quarterfinals.

GMLOS freshman Cael Smith was pinned in the second period of his opening match to Max Nygaard of Benson by at 139, Westfield junior Cannon Wacek lost his first match Bailey Peichel of Frazee 5-4 at 145, Westfield senior Gage Mullenbach lost his first match to Gavyn Hiuncy of Crookston 13-1 at 152, and Westfield senior Alex Lea lost 10-1 to Eli Gruenes of Minneota in his first match.
