Velda Elaine Musolf, 86

Velda Elaine Musolf, 86, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Madonna Towers in Rochester, MN.

Velda was born on May 14, 1938, in Sargeant, MN to Ferdman and Aletta (Lee) Johnson. She grew up on a farm by Sargeant, MN and attended Hayfield Schools. She married Gerald Musolf Sr. and together they had six children, Keith, Veronica, Bryan, Gerald Jr., Robin, and Kim.

Velda worked at Waters Instruments in Rochester, MN and then for IBM. She enjoyed dancing and going on trips to Treasure Island Casino with her family. She loved cheering on the Minnesota Vikings, a good margarita, and telling jokes. You would often find her outside tending to her yard. She was a very positive and upbeat person who was friendly with everyone and would never forget a birthday. Above all, she loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and her stray cat she rescued, Snickers.

Velda is survived by her children, Veronica (Ernest) Kirkpatrick, Robin (Suzanne) Musolf, and Kim Musolf; grandchildren, Melinda Musolf, Mallory Musolf, Nicole Breitbarth, Tiffany Davis, Cody Kirkpatrick, Haley Wolff, Mariah Musolf, Clarissa Musolf, Lucas Musolf, Shalissa Musolf, and Shane Musolf; 15 great-grandchildren with one more on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, Keith, Bryan, and Gerald Jr.; baby sister; brother, Dallas Johnson; and one great-grandson.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Homes, 801 7th St SE Kasson, MN, with Pastor Pete Wyttenbach officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Homes, 801 7th St SE Kasson, MN and one hour prior to her service on Thursday.
