Sarah J. Wehner
Sarah Jane Wehner, born on September 25, 1959, in Austin, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. She was the beloved daughter of James and Julia “Jane” (Kelley) Taylor.
A graduate of Blooming Prairie High School in 1978, Sarah was known for her love of horses, a passion she carried throughout her life. Whether riding through the fields or caring for her beloved animals, horses brought her joy and a sense of freedom.
On March 9, 1985, Sarah married her knight in shining armor, Herbert Wehner; together they had three children.
A woman of grace and style, Sarah had an eye for beauty in both the world around her and in the people she cherished. Her love of fashion and her natural elegance were matched only by her deep faith in God. Sarah was a devoted deacon and elder at her church, roles in which she served with humility and a deep commitment to fostering community. As a devout follower, she lived her life with a kind heart and a commitment to serving others, always offering support and guidance.
Above all, Sarah was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family was the center of her world, and she took great pride in raising her children and doting on her grandchild. She was the go-to person for advice, a warm conversation, or a comforting word-offering wisdom, laughter, and unconditional love to all who knew her.
Sarah will be remembered for her generous spirit, her infectious laugh, and her unwavering devotion to her family, faith, and community. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Sarah is survived by her devoted husband, Herb; children, Nick (Rachel) Wehner, Zach (Beth) Wehner, Breanna (Nick) Kerling; grandson, Hudson Kerling; siblings, Mike (Izzy) Taylor, Barb (Russ) Shannon, Nancy Heimer; and many nieces and nephews.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, James (Jane) Taylor; in laws, Richard (Edith) Wehner; and niece, AmyBeth Taylor.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Friday, February 14, 2025 at Westminster Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Michael Olmsted officiating.
