One person was sent to the hospital early Wednesday evening after a two-vehicle crash as a result of slippery conditions.
Marcus Aaron Chavez, 24, of Austin was transported to Mayo Clinic Health Systems-Austin after the Ford Ranger he was driving westbound on Interstate 90 was involved in a rear-end collision with a 2019 GMC Acadia driven by 48-year-old Efrem Teklezghi Berhe, of Austin.
The crash took place around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, but the Minnesota State Patrol report does not indicate which car was which, saying only that one vehicle lost control resulting in the crash.
Chavez suffered non-life threatening injuries as a result of the crash.
Neither Berhe, nor his passenger, 20-year-old Fieruz Efrem Teklezghi were injured in the crash.
Road conditions were listed as snow and ice covered. The Mower County Sheriff’s Office also responded.
