Leslie L. Huffman, 81
Leslie “Les” Huffman, 81, of Eyota, MN, passed away on January 25, 2025, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN. Born on June 26, 1943, in Austin, MN, to Roy and Madalyn Huffman, Les lived a life marked by ingenuity, hard work, and deep love for his family.
On September 22, 1979, Les married the love of his life, Julie (Thompson) Huffman, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Albert Lea, MN. Together they had one daughter and built a beautiful life, full of adventure and shared passions. Les graduated from vocational school as a certified welder. He was a skilled problem solver and built a successful asphalt maintenance business with his wife, Julie. Together with his wife and daughter they raised and showed miniature horses for many years. His passion for innovation led him to design and build treadmills for horse breeders to exercise their show horses.
In his younger years, Les built and modified a 1955 Chevy Bel Air, winning over 50 trophies in local and national show circuits. He was an avid deer hunter, a NASCAR enthusiast, and raced stock cars in his youth. But above all, his greatest joy in life was his family, and he truly found his calling when he became a grandpa.
Les is survived by his beloved wife, Julie Huffman; daughter, Tracy Huffman-Krizo (David Krizo); and granddaughter, Eleanor. He is also survived by his sister, Mabel Peterson of Blooming Prairie; nieces, Michelle Krell (Rodney) and Natelie Carda (Chad); and nephew, Lee Peterson (Karen). He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy H. Huffman and Madalyn V. Huffman.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 1, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Servicemen’s Club in Blooming Prairie, MN (210 4th St NE, Blooming Prairie, MN 55971).
Les will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
