Jean M. Lonergan, age 90, of Dexer, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 7, 2025.
Jean was born on May 5, 1934 to Madeleine and Cyril Heydeman. She grew up cherishing the values of family, love, and hard work. On July 12, 1952, she married the love of her life, Robert Lonergan and together they built a life filled with devotion and resilience. Their marriage of 64 years was a testament to their unwavering commitment, and together they raised six children.
Jean was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. After Robert’s passing in 2016, she remained on the family farm, a place she held dear. She found joy in the simple things-spending time with her family, sharing stories, and the loving companionship of her dog, Peanut.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert; sons, Gary and Michael; grandson, Charlie Lonergan; parents; two sisters; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Jean is lovingly remembered by her daughter and son-in-law, Vicky and Bob Stocks of Dexter, MN; sons and daughters-in-law, Duane and Amy Lonergan of Austin, MN, Randy and Jill Lonergan of Dexter, MN, Glenn and Michelle Lonergan of Dexter, MN; daughter-in-law, Lori Brennen of Rochester, MN.
She leaves behind a lasting legacy in her 15 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
Jean is also survived by her sister-in-law, Catherine Estegrew of Apple Valley, MN; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Jean’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Mayo Clinic Health System of Mankato for their compassionate care.
Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held from 2-5 pm on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at the Adams Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Dexter Cemetery at a later date.
