Evelyn Erna Erstad, 90

Evelyn Erna Erstad, 90, was called home on February 22, 2025 at  Cedars Senior Living center in Austin, MN. Evelyn was born October 12, 1934 to Erna (Junker) and Leopold Beyer in Madison, SD. She was one of 10 children.

Evelyn attended Ramona High School and married Glenn Erstad on October 5, 1952. She spent her time raising their four children in Madison and later Austin, MN, Glenn and Evelyn retired to Sioux Falls in 1985. Evelyn returned to Austin in 2022 after a series of health issues.

Evelyn is survived by her four children: Gregg (Barb) Erstad of  Austin , MN, Barb Richardson of Sioux Falls, SD Jerry (Joyce) Erstad of Austin, MN and Kim (Robert) Carlson of Richfield, MN.  Evelyn is survived by a younger sister Darlene Schoeberl of Madison, SD. In addition she is survived by 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn, her parents, two brothers Art and Donald Beyer and six sisters: Loiuse Beyer, Esther Popenhagen, Dorothy Nordland, Angie Olson, Caroline Manthey and Donna Erstad.

Evelyn’s final act of kindness was to donate her body for medical training and research to the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. Private services will be held at a later date.
