The No. 1 ranked Riverland Community College men’s basketball team had its 23-game winning streak snapped when it lost to Minnesota State-Fergus Falls 80-56 in Riverland Gym Wednesday.
The loss was the first time the Blue Devils (23-1 overall) have been held below 60 points all season long as RCC went 4-for-29 from three three-point line.
RCC trailed just 31-28 at halftime after Lubab Kambalo hit a late three to bring them within 29-28, but the Spartans took over in the second half. RCC was within 36-34 when Nazih Chehade drove for a score, but the Spartans responded with a 30-12 surge that pushed their lead to 20 points in the late minutes.
