We proudly celebrate Public Schools Week, Feb. 24-28, 2025. It allows us to reflect on the critical role public education plays in shaping the future of our children, our community, and our nation—while expressing our appreciation for the teachers and staff who make it happen.

The people serving our schools work incredibly hard to ensure that every student receives the academic, social, and emotional support they need to thrive. Their resilience, creativity, and compassion inspire us daily, and I know they also inspire our students. We are extremely grateful for their contributions.

Public schools are strongest when they are supported by the communities they serve, and we are fortunate to have a community that cares deeply about education. The involvement of our parents and caregivers in their children’s learning makes a profound difference. Whether you’re helping with homework, attending parent-teacher conferences, or attending school events, your support is invaluable.

Let’s continue to partner to ensure our local schools remain strong, vibrant, and ready to serve future generations. Once again, thank you for supporting the Austin Public Schools and public education.
