As our winter season comes to a close, we want to take a moment to recognize the dedication, perseverance, and achievements of our student-athletes, coaches, and supporters. This season was filled with hard-fought competitions, remarkable team progress, and record-breaking individual performances.
Dance had an outstanding season, culminating in a well-deserved 24th consecutive state tournament appearance. Their hard work and dedication to their routines paid off, and they proudly represented our school on the biggest stage.
Girls hockey took big strides this season, improving their play and gaining valuable experience. Their progress is a testament to their commitment, and the future looks bright for this team.
Boys hockey put together their best season since 2019, demonstrating strong teamwork and resilience on the ice. Their determination led to key victories and a season to be proud of.
Girls basketball had a strong season, competing at a high level throughout and showing impressive teamwork. Their efforts resulted in key wins and a memorable year.
Boys basketball faced a rebuilding season, focusing on player development and building a foundation for future success. Despite the challenges, they continued to improve with each game.
Wrestling also embraced a rebuilding year, with younger athletes gaining valuable experience that will serve them well in the coming seasons.
Gymnastics had a standout season, finishing second at Sections and showcasing incredible talent and determination. Their performances were a highlight of the winter season.
Boys swimming and diving is a young team in a rebuilding phase, but they showed promise with individual successes and steady improvement throughout the season.
In addition to our team accomplishments, several student-athletes reached remarkable milestones:
Sam Winkels (wrestling) achieved an incredible milestone by securing 100 career wins, marking a major accomplishment in his career. His hard work and perseverance have been inspiring.
Ajiem Agwa made history by becoming the all-time leading scorer in Austin girls basketball history. Her leadership and scoring ability have been instrumental in the team’s success.
Brent Dahl set a new standard in the pool, breaking an AHS pool record in the 100-yard butterfly. His dedication and skill have cemented his place at Bud Higgins Pool.
Reese Norton, Kiki Rodriguez, Katelyn Klouse, and Callie McRae all qualified as individuals for the State Gymnastics Meet, showcasing their incredible talent and hard work throughout the season. Their performances at the highest level were a testament to their dedication and skill.
We extend our gratitude to the athletes, coaches, families, and fans who made this season so special. Your support and dedication are the backbone of our athletic programs. As we transition into the spring season, we are excited to build on this momentum and continue striving for excellence. Congratulations to all our teams and athletes on a fantastic winter season!
