Accentra Credit Union has announced the retirement of longtime President/CEO Paul Knorr and the appointment of Lyndsey Johnson by the Board of Directors as his successor.

Knorr, who has led Accentra Credit Union with dedication and vision for the last 17 years, is set to retire after 42 years in the banking industry. Under his leadership, Accentra has grown its commitment to member service and community engagement, solidifying its reputation as a trusted financial institution.

“As I approach retirement, I take great pride in all that we have accomplished together at Accentra,” Knorr said. “The credit union’s true strength lies in its people—our dedicated staff, loyal members, and the communities we serve. I have full confidence in Lyndsey Johnson to carry forward our mission of Simply Better Banking. Her collaborative leadership style, deep roots in the community, and extensive financial expertise make her the ideal leader to guide Accentra into the future. With a passion for ensuring every member’s interaction supports their financial goals, she is well-positioned to continue our legacy of service and growth.”

Johnson, a lifelong member of Accentra Credit Union, brings over a decade of experience within the organization. A graduate of Austin High School and WGU, she also completed the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Executive Management School at the University of Wisconsin. Before joining Accentra in 2012 as an Accountant, she worked in the Finance Department at Mayo Clinic Health System-Austin for eight years.

Johnson has been a member of Accentra since 1998 and fondly remembers visiting the credit union with her parents and grandparents as a child. She currently serves as Treasurer of the Mower County Senior Center, Vice President of the Music Boosters of Austin, and is on the Mower County CEO Program Board.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to lead an organization that has been a cornerstone of my financial journey – from opening my first checking account to purchasing a home and saving for retirement,” Johnson said. “The credit union offers something for everyone. I am excited to build and strengthen our relationships with those we serve and the communities they reside in.”

Accentra Credit Union said it thanked Knorr for his years of dedicated service and looks forward to a seamless transition as Johnson steps into her new role.
