Duplicate Bridge is played on Tuesdays and Wednesdays every week at the Mower County Senior Center in Austin. Start time both days at 11:30 a.m.

All bridge players are welcome to bring a partner  and join us weekly. If you do not have a regular partner, call Joyce at 507-437-2750 and she will line one up for you.

Tuesday we had five and a half tables playing. Winners were:

The ACBL magazine has some interesting articles this month about counting, the importance of part scores and analysis of expert bidding skills, all the while increasing one’s own abilities at the tables by paying attention as the cards talk to each other.  It is true that a good team relationship can often be heard at our tables as the bidding progresses around the table. It is an art worth practicing in the bridge world and perfectly legal in the game of Duplicate Bridge. One can only guess how the young minds of today’s kids might benefit by learning this game.
