The Austin boys hockey team battled its way to a 4-3 overtime win in Windom to open its season Monday night.
Kyler Flanders scored the game-winner in overtime when he registered his first career varsity goal for the Packers (1-0 overall).
Gahvin Schaefer tied the game at 3-3 when he scored his second goal of the night with 3:58 left in the third period.
Grady Carney added a goal and two assists for Austin.
