Winter isn’t done with us yet.
Monday’s system was a stark reminder not to fall for spring-like weather in the month of March. As of 2:49 p.m. Monday afternoon, the National Weather Service that Lyle had seen 8 inches of snow. Across the whole of Mower County, snow fall totals ranged from 5-8 inches.

Plows returned to roads and people broke out the shovels, including Ryjdor Bike store manager Jon Burkhart, who could only smile as he shoveled the snow from the front walk.
The National Weather Service’s winter storm warning is scheduled deep into the afternoon and all through that, vehicles were sliding into ditches.
Around half of the state Monday were reporting roads in various states of snow cover, including most of the Mower County area, that was completely covered, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Things will remain on the chilly side today with a high of 37 expected under cloudy skies, but weather will be increasingly spring-like as the week goes on. By the time we reach the weekend, temperatures will be back in the 50s — 53 Saturday and 58 Sunday.
