The Austin girls hockey team beat Rochester Mayo 2-1 to start the season Saturday.

Kate Holtz and Kiah Rumsey each scored a goal in the win.

Each team had 21 shots on goal.

“The defense played well keeping shots away from Shelby (Davidson),” Austin head coach Troy Holtz said. “Shelby was very strong for us again.”
