Update: Bodies found in rural Austin, Grand Meadow

Law enforcement is investigating after two bodies of deceased males were found Tuesday in Mower County.

According to Mower County Sheriff Steve Sandvik, the Mower County Sheriff’s Office was called at about 7:10 a.m. on Tuesday about a deceased male in the vicinity of 572nd Avenue and County Road 45 in rural Austin.  Sandvik could release no further information pending an autopsy and notification of the next of kin.

Law enforcement responded to another call of a deceased male found at about 2:55 p.m. on Tuesday in the 69000 block of 260th Street in the rural Grand Meadow area. As with the first case, Sandvik could release no further information pending an autopsy and notification of the next of kin.

Sandvik said the two incidents were unrelated, that foul play is not suspected in either case and that there is no concern for public safety.
