828 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Mower County since March 19

The Minnesota Department of Health on Wednesday reported 15 new cases of COVID-19 in Mower County, bringing the county’s total to 828 since March 19.
Community Health Division Manager Pam Kellogg said part of those numbers come from this weekend’s testing event at the Mower County Fairgrounds.
“We expect another jump in numbers (Thursday) due to this weekend’s testing,” she said.
Neighboring counties of Dodge, Fillmore, Freeborn, Olmsted and Steele are reporting 67, 23, 259, 938, and 202 cases respectively.
The MDH also reported 304 new cases, bringing the state’s cumulative total to 33,763. Of those, an estimated 29,707 no longer require isolation.
As of Wednesday, 340 individuals were hospitalized in Minnesota, including 160 in intensive care.
The MDH also reported five deaths, bringing the death toll to 1,397.
