Ruby’s Pantry Austin distributed 400 bundles of donated food and other items at their Thursday, May 21 pantry held at the Mower County Fairgrounds.
With the assistance of the Mower County Sheriff Department and Emergency Management Office, the large number of vehicles that came to the distribution were handled smoothly with no issues allowing the process to go quickly and safely.
Cars flowed through the fairgrounds in a steady stream and everyone was served who came to the pantry unlike in April when we had to turn some vehicles away when we ran out of food.
Help was also provided by Thompson Sanitation with recycling and garbage control.
It is yet to be determined where the next pantry will be located but if the current situation continues we expect it to be at the fairgrounds again.
Ruby’s distributions are always the third Thursday of each month. For updates check our Facebook page at Ruby’s Pantry Austin.
