Page Turners postpone author engagement
Count the Austin Page Turners as the latest group to be affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Alison McGhee
On Wednesday, the group announced that their annual Citywide Reading Event, scheduled for later this month and featuring author Alison McGhee, would be postponed to 2021.
“She was wonderful to work with,” said Bonnie Rietz. “She basically said, ‘Anything you guys want will be fine’ with her.”
“We talked about whether we should try to do it this fall, but with so much unknown, we decided we would do the project next year,” she added.
McGhee, who wrote the book “Never Coming Back,” is the 19th author to be featured by the group and with No. 20 originally slated for next year. Organizers were looking at other ways to proceed forward, including ideas like asking for more than one author or asking past authors to return.
