The Austin Public Library and Austin Park and Recreation Department want your stories!

Submit a journal entry for a chance to win a gift basket and have your writing printed in the paper. Your entry may be shared on social media and in marketing material.  Your name will be omitted by request.

There are three categories: Adult – 18 and over, Teen – 12 to 17, Kids – under 12

Rules include:

• Essay must be your original work

• Essay can be no longer than 500 words

• Handwritten entries will be accepted

• Entry must include name, age category and contact information

• No entries after May 25

Entries can be sent to essay@aplmn.org, dropped in the library book drop, or mailed to the library at 323 Fourth Ave. NE.
