When you give to United Way of Mower County, you’re not just giving to a good cause, you’re causing something good to happen. As a United Way supporter, the lives you impact may be those of a neighbor, friend, or even a family member. Whether in day-to-day activities or times of crisis, the impact is real.

UWMC’s annual Community Campaign raises funds to support social service programs in four focus areas: quality education, financial stability, access to health care, and meeting basic needs.

Thanks to contributions from over 3,300 individuals, 58 businesses, and 3 foundations, a record pledge amount of $1,273,429 has been recorded for UWMC’s 2019 Community Campaign. This support will allow UWMC to strategically invest in 45 local programs administered by 25 nonprofits that serve so many of our neighbors in need. Learn more about the reason behind our work, the empowered individuals who make it all possible, and the impact we will have on Mower County at www.uwmower.org/celebrate.

To our donors: You know that for a community to be great, it has to be great for everyone, and your generosity fuels solutions that improve lives and lift the communities we serve. Sometimes you feel like one person standing alone against significant challenges. However, thousands share your vision for the future and are ready to act alongside you – that’s the power of collective impact.

To our business and foundation partners: You impact countless lives through your products and services every day. You also have an important vision for how you can make a difference in the communities where your employees live and work. Your organization is eager to invest in lasting change and continues to devote its talent and resources to good causes right here at home. Because you partner with United Way, your team joins a network dedicated to building a better life and a stronger community for everyone.

To our campaign coordinators and volunteers: The time and passion contributed to this effort are what will allow us to continue providing Mower County with vital services that change lives. We thank you for walking alongside us on this journey, for advocating for us, for lending your skills and expertise, and for not blinking an eye when we asked for your support.

To our funded partners: You are the ones our community counts on most. You change lives every day. You work tirelessly on behalf of others to make things better. You have an inspired vision for the future of our community, but you know to achieve it, you need to bring everyone to the table to help. We share your vision, and together we can make it a reality. We’re bound by the belief that each of us has a stake in the success of our fellow citizens. Together, we offer innovative and comprehensive solutions to the core challenges that our community faces, and we are honored to support your efforts.

Behind every changed life is someone who cares, and there is no greater power for change than a community discovering what it cares about. UWMC’s 2019 Community Campaign is a testament to the incredible generosity of community members and businesses, the strength of cross-sector partnerships and collaborations, the talent and dedication of our team and volunteers, and, most importantly, the power of collective impact.

UWMC is committed to investing resources where they are needed most, and I hope that you will see that promise come alive as we report on funded partner impact throughout the next several months. From making sure every student graduates to ensuring no senior is vulnerable and beyond: we know we couldn’t tackle these bold goals without you.

We are proud of the work that we’ve done and will remain United as we forge ahead. On behalf of the people who and organizations that will be impacted by your generosity, thank you for creating opportunities and inspiring hope for a brighter future.
