Law enforcement is looking for an individual that killed and partially field dressed a cow belonging to a Mower County farmer.
According to Mower County Sheriff Steve Sandvik, a farmer reported on Monday that one of his cattle had been located deceased at approximately noon on Sunday in a field in the 27000 block of Mower Fillmore Road in rural Racine. The cattle, a 5-year-old Black Simmental Angus cow, had been shot while grazing. The carcass had been partially butchered – the back straps and both hind quarters had been removed from the cow prior to the discovery. The cow was pregnant at the time; the calf did not survive.
