Confirmed Mower County COVID-19 cases increases to 22
The Minnesota Department of Health confirmed on Friday that two more Mower County residents tested positive for coronavirus, bringing the total since testing began to 22.
Neighboring Olmsted County has had 126 reported cases, including two deaths, while Freeborn, Steele, Dodge and Fillmore Counties have reported 21, 9, 14 and 10 cases, respectively.
Statewide, health officials confirmed 94 new cases in Minnesota, raising the total to 1,336 cases. Of those, 732 no longer require isolation. As of Friday morning, 143 people were hospitalized throughout the state, including 64 in intensive care.
The MDH also reported seven more deaths on Friday, bringing the total number of deaths in Minnesota from COVID-19 to 57.
Worldwide, the death toll surged past 100,000. As of Friday, the New York metropolitan area accounted for more than half of the nation’s, around 18,000.
