A pair of autism events in April are still planning to go forward with adjustments to account for the current COVID-19 crisis.

On Monday, the Hormel Historic Home will host “Healthy Relationships for All Abilities” by Katie Thune from Mad Hatter Wellness. The course will be online from 4-5 p.m. and is free.

Thune will discuss with parents and caregivers tips, tools and resources that support friendships, relationships and sexual health for all abilities.

Then on April 13-19 will be the Stepping Out “Safely” for Autism fundraising event.

For nine years this walk has raised funds to support the summer camps for youth on the autism spectrum. This year, however, it’s going virtual.

While the walk itself can’t be held to preserve social distancing measures, there will be live Facebook presentations at 11:30 a.m. daily throughout the week. Recorded presentations will also be available for viewing.

Participants can join the event on the Hormel Historic Home Facebook page or website to learn, donate, and send in photos or videos of their own personal walks, rides, skates, and more.

All funds raised stay local and benefit families served by the Hormel Historic Home summer camps, educational and respite events. To make a donation or purchase a t-shirt, visit www.hormelhistorichome.org.
